The paint is flaking at the folds of metallic origami, is this normal?

The Espaciel support parts are designed according to the principle of Origami Métallique. They are made of materials insensitive to corrosion: Aluminium and stainless steel. The finishing paint allows to harmonize their aspect and to facilitate their touch during the assembly. However, the paint has no effect on corrosion, nor on their lifespan.

This occasional flaking appears on all our Origami Métallique support parts and concerns all reflectors sold to date (10,000 units in total). This technique allows a flat transport between the workshop and the assembly, as well as a manufacturing without heavy bending machine. It is part of our general concept of agile manufacturing, as frugal as possible in terms of industrial means.
Thus the painting in the oven is carried out before bending. Hence the flaking observed on the assembled frame. For the reasons mentioned above, the fact that the paint is flaking when bent, does not take anything away from the characteristics of the product.
