Mathilde lives with her partner and two children in the Parisian region, in Saint-Ouen, in an apartment with a small garden. Since moving in, she had been looking for a way to increase the brightness of her kitchen, which is located at the back of the main room and only has access to the outside through a patio door.
Mathilde’s kitchen is open to the dining area and has a North-East facing bay window. Sunlight rarely enters, only on a few days in the summer. Moreover, the neighboring buildings, just a few meters away, darken the interior of the space. Mathilde wanted to boost the brightness in this room, but how could she do that?
Using Espaciel’s online configurator, she quickly identified the ideal Light Reflector for her needs. The perfect choice was the Terrace Reflector, as it suited her 2.2-meter bay window and the lighting conditions of her apartment.
Mathilde installed the Terrace Reflector quickly and easily, placing it on the ground in front of the bay window, under the open sky. This positioning allowed the reflector to redirect daylight all the way to the back of her kitchen, significantly improving the lighting.
Before that, Mathilde had considered costly renovation options, such as installing another window or a false skylight, or even replacing the entrance door with a glass door to bring in more daylight. However, these options involved extensive work or required approval from the property management. She ultimately found the simpler, more effective solution: the Espaciel Reflector.
On installation day, Mathilde immediately noticed the improvement in her kitchen’s brightness. Thanks to the Espaciel Reflector, daylight is redirected to the back of the room, illuminating the entire space and making her kitchen brighter and more pleasant to be in.
