Sustainable development: what are Espaciel's objectives?

Espaciel is participating in 8 of the 17 MDGs defined by the UN 🌍

At Espaciel, we believe it is possible to positively evolve our lifestyles to respect planetary boundaries. By bringing more natural light into dark homes and offices, we contribute to improving our clients’ well-being, comfort, and health. Espaciel’s ethical, local, and sustainable approach aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) .

MDG 3: Good health and well-being

Natural light is essential for mental and physical health. By improving interior lighting, we bring more than just visual comfort — we help our users regain energy, serenity, and morale. Many tell us they feel better at home since using our reflectors. Some have even abandoned their plans to move, so beneficial has the transformation of their living space been. For us, that is the greatest success.

MDG 7: Clean and affordable energy

Our products operate without electricity. They use only natural light, a free, inexhaustible, and clean resource (sky brightness and sunlight). By reflecting natural light inside buildings, we reduce the need for artificial lighting and help our clients save energy. It’s a simple action, accessible to everyone, that contributes to more responsible consumption in daily life.

SDG 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure

We have made the choice of useful and sustainable innovation. Our reflectors are designed, manufactured, and assembled locally in France, following a logic of proximity and quality. Our solutions transform any window into a natural light collector, without renovations, without electricity, simply. This gentle and ingenious approach easily integrates into everyday life for an immediate and lasting impact.

MDG 10: Reduce inequalities

Inclusion is part of our approach. That’s why we work with a workshop that employs people with disabilities. By choosing this path, we contribute to the professional integration of groups far from employment, while valuing their skills and commitment. It is also our way of showing that innovation and solidarity can go hand in hand.

SDG 11: Sustainable cities and communities

Many homes suffer from a severe lack of natural light. Our range of Reflectors allows everyone to improve comfort without having to move or undertake major renovations. It is a concrete response to the challenges of evolving built housing: doing better with what already exists, while enhancing the quality of life and health of the inhabitants.

MDG 12: Responsible consumption and production

We place great importance on the durability of our products. They are designed to last over 10 years, up to 30 years with regular maintenance. Their structure is made of 90% recyclable aluminum, with 30% recycled content. We minimize waste at every stage, including during delivery, using zero-waste packaging. Producing less, but better: that is our goal.

MDG 13: Combating climate change

By reducing the use of artificial light, we contribute to lowering CO₂ emissions linked to electricity production. Our local manufacturing also helps limit transportation and thus our carbon footprint. We believe that every action counts, and that simple solutions can have a real impact on the climate.

SDG 17: Partnerships to achieve the goals

Espaciel’s commitment is part of a collective dynamic, as a member of the IM4Pulse group, which actively participates in the Convention of Businesses for the Climate in Hauts-de-France. We also use our communication channels, especially during World Environment Day, to inform our clients and partners.

🌱 Lighting up today, for a sustainable future

We are convinced that it is possible to innovate without harming the planet, and to undertake without abandoning our values. By spreading natural light where it is lacking, we do more than transform spaces: we help promote a different way of consuming, producing, and living. Together, let’s make natural lighting rhyme with ecological transition.
