Espaciel and the Businesses for Climate Convention

On June 5th, World Environment Day 2025, the “Evening of Takeoff” organized by the CEC took place at the Palais Rameau in Lille.

This event, which brought together 300 people, was the highlight of the Convention of Businesses for the Climate in the Hauts-de-France region.

Here is what this means for Espaciel in terms of reducing its environmental impact and, in the long term, moving towards a regenerative activity.

What is the Convention of Businesses for the Climate (CEC)?

The Convention of Businesses for the Climate (CEC) is a movement that brings together business leaders to help them understand environmental challenges and transform their activities in a meaningful way.

Through a collective and committed journey, they develop ambitious action plans to reduce their environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future.

This is known as the CEC roadmap.

Espaciel and the CEC Hauts-de-France

In 2024, Espaciel joined IM4pulse, a group of independent SMEs based in northern France, specializing in home improvement. IM4pulse manufactures windows, patio doors, roller shutters, and gates. Espaciel contributes its expertise in the field of natural light reflectors.

IM4pulse is a participant in the Convention of Businesses for the Climate in Hauts-de-France. The group’s work was presented on Thursday, June 5, during World Environment Day 2025.

Benoît de Saint Seine, CEO of IM4pulse, unveiled the group’s roadmap to reduce its environmental impact and work towards a more sustainable world. His approach starts with a simple question:

How can window products last longer and be made from more recycled materials?

What is Espaciel’s CEC roadmap?

The CEC roadmap is a company's commitment to the path it will follow by 2030 to reduce its environmental impact and ultimately become regenerative—that is, not taking from nature, but rather giving resources back to it.

Espaciel is fully aligned with the CEC roadmap of IM4pulse, which focuses on ensuring a long product lifespan and using a maximum amount of recycled materials. The goal is to minimize the extraction of new resources from nature. The ability to repair products is also an excellent way to extend their lifespan.

How does Espaciel limit its environmental impact and move toward a regenerative business model?

The high-quality materials used by Espaciel ensure a very long lifespan (aluminum, ceramic, stainless steel). Moreover, the aluminum used by Espaciel is made from over 30% recycled material. The goal is to reach 100% recycled aluminum. In fact, the Espaciel Reflector is made up of 90% aluminum by total weight, and recycling aluminum uses only a fraction of the energy required for its initial production.

During visits to our customers, I’m always impressed by the durability of Espaciel Reflectors. A simple cleaning, and they look as good as new. This is the result of choosing high-quality materials. Combined with a clean and timeless design, created by the Fritsch and Durisotti agency, it ensures a long-lasting product. Its lifespan is over 10 years at initial performance levels, and up to 30 years with possible intermediate repairs.

Beyond energy concerns, usage and processes must also evolve

Because they are independent of the building structure, Espaciel Reflectors can be moved from one home to another, allowing them to be used even longer.

Jean-Philippe Olvec, Head of CSR at IM4pulse, was surprised when I told him that I had eliminated plastic tape for sealing Espaciel boxes. I replaced it with kraft paper adhesive tape. After the initial surprise, he agreed it was a good approach. Indeed, using paper-based sealing prevents the mixing of materials and the addition of plastic, making the packaging fully reusable or recyclable—fully aligned with a zero-waste philosophy.

There is still a long way to go to integrate and implement all aspects of the CEC roadmap.

But the course is set. The ambition is now to move forward towards this goal of sustainability, repairability, circular usage, and full recyclability. A vision that Espaciel fully shares—and is already well aligned with.
