What's the difference between indoor and outdoor reflectors?

The highly reflective surface is the same for all Espaciel reflectors. As such, the Interior Reflector is just as effective as the Exterior Reflectors. It has an optical efficiency of 99% in diffuse light and 93% in direct light.

Difference in daylighting efficiency
The position of the interior reflector makes it less efficient than exterior reflectors. This is because the window lintel masks part of the natural light. This is not the case with exterior reflectors, which are positioned as close as possible to the light source, under the sky. It is estimated that this difference in location reduces the efficiency of the Interior Reflector by 40% compared to an Exterior Reflector.
Differences between indoor and outdoor reflector supports
The Indoor Reflector support is designed for indoor use only. Its steel material, although oven-painted, is not ideal for outdoor use, due to the risk of corrosion. Exterior reflectors, on the other hand, are made of aluminum and stainless steel, which are naturally resistant to corrosion. Espaciel applies a baked-on paint to these parts for extra protection.
Difference between indoor and outdoor reflector fastenings
In addition, the surface of the Indoor Reflector is attached to its support by a reversible Velcro-type textile system. This fastening is practical and suitable for indoor use. It is not suitable for high outdoor mounting. It's easy to understand that hanging on windowsills or balconies requires rigid mechanical fixings, which is the case for Espaciel Exterior Reflectors, as it is for other window accessories such as balconies.
